MkPlaylist eases the task of creating a playlist from your music. After you tell it where your music resides, it displays a tree in the left pane with all your music with the top level nodes being artists, then if you expand an artist it will show you all the albums (what an archaic term!) by that artist, and then if you exand an album it will show you all the tracks on that album. You can click at any level to add that node (all albums by and artist, a specific album or a specific track) to your playlist. After you have added all the music you wish, you can save the playlist and use it in Windows Media Player or any media player that supports this format.
